Your first print run needs to be sold so that you can make the sales numbers you need to make to get your second printing. If you give all your books away (or more than you can afford to, you'll find yourself feeling resentful about the whole process. Avoid this by making a hard and fast rule: If their name isn't printed on the inside of your book, they pay the price printed on the outside of your book.
